ReadOnly wikis cannot be edited except by System Operators (Sysops). These wikis deny users the one thing that makes wikis special. Despite the wiki format and wiki computers they are like ordinary websites where users read someone else's opinion. Users can't change anything that they feel is wrong or add anything that they know or feel can improve the site.

Many people, including folks at WikiIndex think these websites are not true wiki. In fact SwitchWiki only listed OpenEdit wiki.
