This is a wiki to see if there is any value in us building a public knowledge database for the field of Media Development, the nurturing and building of media such as radio, television, newspapers and now the Internet across the Regions of the world in the belief that they play a vital role in the growth of free and prosperous societies. There is a broad consensus that, although media has been around since the dawn of history, media development in its present form started in around 1980. There is also growing evidence for the case that media matters for development.
