StikiPad was a hosted wiki solution, also known as a wiki farm, that gives you an easy way to organize your information and share information with others.

Some nice features:

  • CAPTCHA spam protection
  • WYSIWYG editing
  • RSS feeds
  • GreatFeature: Task Lists with drag-and-drop sorting

When founded, the 'personal wiki' (with 150 MB storage and 1 GB bandwidth) was US$5 per month, although StikiPad gave away some free wiki (with 30 MB storage and 500 MB bandwidth) if you asked nicely. Other plans also available were the 'power user' (with 500 MB storage and 2 GB bandwidth) at US$9.95 per month, and the 'team' plan (with 1 GB storage and 5 GB bandwidth) at US$14.95 per month.

The StikiPad wiki engine is written in Ruby on Rails, and uses AJAX.

The software (the StikiPad wiki engine), and the web site / wiki farm (the private data center that holds the machines that host all the wiki), and the company (StikiPad, Inc.), are all named StikiPad.

I see that http://StikiPad.com is a normal static web page, although it talks *about* wiki. Is there a wiki *about* StikiPad? Or a least a bit of a sandbox to play with it?

I hear the Script.Aculo.us wiki and CaseCamp wiki runs in the StikiPad data center and, of course, runs on the StikiPad wiki engine software.

Beware!

StikiPad has vanished off the face of the earth. No wikis are available anymore. People are still being charged for a service that hasn't worked in months. Nobody's responding, nobody's saying anything. It's effectively dead.
