As of December 2016, the farm appears to be seriously inactive. The ability to directly create wikis has been removed, and attempting to request a wiki returns an error message saying "We are evaluating our program right now and are not creating new wikis for a while". Requesting and waiting 3 months returns absolutely no response or other results.

Description

Wiki.Wiki is a wiki farm, or a network of wikis, that currently hosts around 100+ projects in 13 languages (see Directory for a complete list or browse Category:Wikis). Anyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to contribute to any wiki by creating an account at the appropriate project. Wiki.Wiki projects, including this one, run on top of MediaWiki, the free and open source wiki package written in PHP, originally for use on Wikipedia. MediaWiki is used by other Wikimedia Foundation projects and remains the world's most popular wiki software.[1]

The farm is operated under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license and was started in 2014.

As of December 2016, the ability to directly create wikis has been removed, and attempting to request a wiki returns an message saying "We are evaluating our program right now and are not creating new wikis for a while".

Why Wiki.Wiki?

Wiki.Wiki is a great option for wiki enthusiasts who want to focus on creating collaborative content and building community, instead of worrying about domain registration, hosting, and MediaWiki installation and maintenance. Let us take care of those tasks for you! How do we provide these services? Wiki.Wiki offsets the cost of making .wiki domains available and providing free hosting by placing an ad in the lefthand sidebar of each wiki.

Here are three ways Wiki.Wiki differs from competing wiki farms:

  1. .wiki: Projects utilize the .wiki top-level domain, which is perfect for wiki-centric sites.
  2. Free hosting: There is no cost associated with launching a new project and hosting is provided for free!
  3. Customer service: We offer superb customer service. One recent survey respondent wrote, "The onboarding process was one of the best I've ever had on the Internet... Thank you for being so kind, patient and helpful - I felt like I was dealing with an old trusted work friend."

Features

New wiki projects are hosted at .wiki domains and include the following features and extensions:
