The <b>BioShock Wiki</b> is a wiki that is dedicated to the action-adventure, survival horror {{tag|first-person shooter}} game series BioShock, which was developed primarily by Irrational Games and 2K Marin. BioShock was released in the United States on August 21, 2007, for the {{tag|Xbox|Xbox 360}} and {{tag|PC game|PC}}, and on October 21, 2008, for the {{tag|PlayStation|PlayStation 3}}. BioShock 2 was released for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 on February 12, 2010. The games take place in a formerly utopian city under the Atlantic Ocean, called Rapture. In the first game, the player takes the part of a man named Jack, who was travelling in an airplane which mysteriously crashed near a lighthouse, which is the entrance to Rapture. The second game takes place roughly nine years later, and the player takes-on the role of a [http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Subject_Delta prototype Big Daddy] who awakens in the city after being mysteriously revived at a Vita-Chamber.
