Semantic MediaWiki (SMW) est une extension libre de MediaWiki – le logiciel sur lequel est basé Wikipedia – destinée à la recherche, à l'organisation, au balisage, à la navigation, à l'évaluation et au partage du contenu des wikis. Alors que les wikis traditionnels ne contiennent que du texte ne pouvant ni être compris, ni évalué par les ordinateurs, SMW ajoute des « annotations sémantiques » qui apportent la puissance du web sémantique au wiki.
