These wikis are related, wholly or in part, to the [[wp:Occupy movement|Occupy movement]]; an international {{tag|protest}} movement who 'occupy' public spaces which started in 2011. Facilitiated by modern electronic communications such as [[:Category:Mobile phones|mobile phones]] and the [[:Category:Internet|internet]], and using platforms such as instant messaging and social media ([[:Category:Facebook|Facebook]] and [[:Category:Twitter|Twitter]]), they aim to bring more fairness to {{tag|Economics|economic}} policies by non-violent direct action, picketing, civil disturbance, demonstrations and the likes.
