Pipedija - tai alternatyvi ir socialiai orientuota enciklopedija, neretai atstovaujanti kelias kraštutines nuomones tuo pačiu klausimu, bet turinti humoro jausmą. Pagrindinės Pipedijos temos yra Politika, Mitologija, Parodija, Konspiracija, taip pat įvairios kitos, įskaitant ir keisčiausias temas, taip pat tas, kurios buvo pašalintos iš Vikipedijos, kaip neatitinkančios enciklopediškumo kriterijų.

Daugelį kartų minėta ir naudota, kaip duomenų šaltinis spaudoje bei televizijoje, Pipedija gali būti vertinama, kaip antra pagal pagal populiarumą internetinė enciklopedija Lietuvoje po Vikipedijos.
