This article page is for the Referata ' meta' wiki.

Referata – wiki databases — offers hosting of semantic wikis, allowing you to add, structure and store data so it can be managed, shared, browsed and analyzed in as many ways as you choose.

Combined with the collaborative abilities of a wiki, a site hosted on Referata can serve as a true user-powered database, with a minimal amount of setup work or technical knowledge. Referata wikis can be public or private, open or closed. Public wikis can be set up and run at no charge, but have a limit of 100 MB file storage. There are three paid-for service levels; at 20, 50 and 80 US$ per month.^[1]

As of November 2016, the Referata developers and other staff appear to have at least partially abandoned this 'home' meta wiki site. The feature requests page has dozens of requests that have seemingly been ignored, and the recent changes list is mostly full of new account creations. It seems like the site has become just a dormant host for individual wikis.

As of April 2019, the entire wiki farm is down, only displaying an "Internal Server Error" and a fatal 500 error when attempting to access the Meta-Wiki or any other wiki hosted by the wikifarm. Prior to the farm going down, it appeared that at least a portion of the backend code had been compromised, with the "Hosted by Referata" advertisement/logo link at the bottom right of all pages replaced by an image that reads "Hacked by Delicious".

The farm today loads slowly, which means that there is possibly a DoS/DDoS attack targeting Referata.

As of September 2019 accounts cannot be created on any Referata wiki. Thus users cannot create new wikis.

As of September 2020 the database has crashed and has yet to be recovered.
