Der Verein zur Förderung Freier Informationen für die Pflege e. V. bietet seit dem 15.08.2004 ein mehrsprachiges Wikiprojekt (PflegeWiki) für den Gesundheitsbereich Pflege. Es ist eine Sammlung von, im rechtlichen Sinn, "freien" Texten und Bildern und wird von Freiwilligen gestaltet. Neben Informationen zu Pflegethemen werden auch die Berufsbilder aus diesem Bereich beschrieben. PflegeWiki ist, analog zur Enzyklopädie Wikipedia, eine weitere freie Sammlung des menschlichen Wissens für den Gesundheitsbereich, mit dem Schwerpunkt Pflege. Somit bleibt PflegeWiki ein Portal für die praktische Krankenpflege und wird daher auch unter dem Motto "von Praktikern - für Praktiker" geführt.
