WikiJokeia attempts to be for jokes what Wikipedia is for information. All the content is user-submitted and user-rated, although WikiJokeia does not allow users to delete jokes or categories posted by others. The mission of WikiJokeia is to have a comprehensive database of as many jokes as possible and virtually every joke category. Within each category, users can rate jokes by clicking a thumbs up or thumbs down icon that appears beside the jokes. Clicking the icon changes the hilarity value of the joke and therefore the position of the joke on the page. The goal is to have each category arranged with the funniest jokes on top.
Software[edit]
WikiJokeia uses modified forum software written in php instead of traditional wiki software in order to better allow the automated reorganization of the jokes basted on user-rated "hilarity" values. Despite the use of forum software, the makers of WikiJokeia still consider it a wiki because the goal is to have user-generated and user-edited content that is controlled by the users instead of a web master.
