MediaWiki.org is the official wiki site for the 'MediaWiki' wiki engine software.

MediaWiki.org provides some documentation, and surrounding information, but in fact this wiki is relatively new, and most of the development and user support information can be found at Wikimedia Meta-Wiki (a much older site). This is a slightly confusing situation which hopefully will be tidied up a bit at some point. Both sites are run by the 'Wikimedia Foundation' who oversee MediaWiki development, and who also run the Wikipedia empire. Template:Wikimedia
