WikiIndex Staff are users within a specific user group who have the technical ability to use every part of the MediaWiki interface on WikiIndex. The full list of permissions for staff users is available here. Most of the permissions are included in the administrator and bureaucrat permissions, however two advanced permissions require membership of the staff group. These permissions are:
- Usage of the Extension:Configure;
- Ability to assign check user, interwiki, and Semantic MediaWiki admin user rights.
Because all of the other rights of the staff user group are included in the administrator and/or bureaucrat user groups, this user right is not likely to be granted to any users other than current staff members. However, if the need arises, and a user has a good reason, he or she should open a discussion request on the community portal. Note that only current staff members can add new ones.
