Incel Wiki, an encyclopedia of incel, is available in two versions, both active.
- Incel Wiki (Incels.Wiki) — hijacked wiki with domain from 2018
- Incel Wiki (IncelWiki.com) — wiki using CC licensed incels.info material, from original authors and creators of .wiki
Incels Wiki,[1] is a mostly hijacked encyclopedia of incel related topics in the English language. It was meant to be a repository of academia, folk theories, memes, people, and art, associated with involuntary celibates. Involuntary celibates are defined on Incel Wiki as being those who for an extended period of time could not establish a romantic and / or sexual relationship, even after approaching a wide variety of people.
Creation
It was first created by William, the owner of YoureNotAlone.co (previously Incelistan.net) in June 2018 source, as a place to be non-ideological about incels. However he was never given server access, only MediaWiki access, before he moved to his own server at IncelWiki.com.
Domain name changes
In November 2018, the domain named changed from the first domain name: Incels.info, to Incels.Wiki.[2] Possibly due to Afilias dropping Incels.me, and the Incels.co administrators moving all the sites on their server off Afilias owned TLDs out of a protective mechanism.
In May 2020, the guy who pays for the Incels.Wiki and Incels.co server decided he had issues with the Incel wiki creator and original writers, and so the wiki was moved by the original creator and original writers to https://IncelWiki.com.[3]
Hosting
Incels.wiki is owned and hosted by the owners of SanctionedSuicide / Incels.is / Looksmax.org, etc.
IncelWiki.com is owned and hosted by the owners of the YoureNotAlone.co. IncelWiki.com has more stringent rules structure than most forums. The YoureNotAlone.co forum links to the wiki.
Account granting
Registration takes place through granting anonymous IP editors registration after they make good edits.
Academic and media citation
Academic institutions publishing works citing Incel Wiki include: UA Little Rock, RWTH Aachen University, and Uppssala University. It has also been cited in the news magazine: New Statesman.
IncelWiki.com was later cited by an academic at Simon Fraser University, which described the split of Incels.wiki and IncelWiki.com.[4]
