Template:Wiki Engine foswiki.org is a wiki all about the Foswiki wiki engine. This wiki supports the Foswiki user and development community. The Foswiki engine developers have targeted it mainly at corporate intranet use, but it is also fairly widespread on the internet (see list below). It is written in both Perl and JavaScript. The software is available for free under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

Foswiki is the open source successor of TWiki. It was created on 2008-10-27 by its core developers since a company called TWIKI.NET enforced their trademark on TWiki by locking out all former contributors.

Foswiki is backwards compatible to TWiki and continues 10 years of experience and tradition. It's latest release fixes over 400 individual bugs relative to the current TWiki release. Major TWiki customers are in progress to migrate away from TWiki, i.e. as development and fixes of key enterprise features are only available upstream for Foswiki.
