:I used a soft redirect on the user page because this is the custom elsewhere; people often want to get to the special toolbox pages you describe when clicking on a username. I have added a user information box to the external links section, similar to that used on WikiFur, and converted the soft redirect to a hard one. I don't like the idea of redirecting the talk page, as I feel there should be a separation between the discussion of the article vs. conversation with the user, but I have added a header in case people go there hoping to talk with me. I had already added the page GreenReaper to my watchlist, including changes to the talk page.
