This Category: Wikidot.com is either empty, or sparsely populated,
and needs to be 'populated' with articles, stubs (and / or other categories)
relevant to the subject matter of this specific category.

Include an article page in this category via one (or more) of three methods:
a. add Wikidot.com in the appropriate field of its infobox template
b. 'tag' a word within the prose of the article, eg. {{tag|Wikidot.com}}
c. add [[Category:Wikidot.com]] at the bottom of its edit box.

Wikidot.com is the worlds' largest wiki farm,[1] running 120,000 sites. Their mission is to provide free and professional wiki publishing, collaboration, and communication solutions to anyone who needs it and wants it.

Each wikidot site gets a sub-domain on .wikidot.com (eg mywiki.wikidot.com). There is also a possibility to map a custom domain for free (eg mywiki.com – if previously registered by the wiki site owner). One can optionally allow Wikidot to display advertising on their wiki site and get 80% of revenue. Features include: RSS import/export, private RSS feeds for users (notifications and watched items), RSS for page changes and forum, customisable themes (every item can be styled with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)), advanced forum for each site. Custom page hierarchies, searching, advanced page edit locking (full/section/append), blocking users and IP addresses, and private messages between users.

Also available as a free downloadable wiki engine, released under version 3 of the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL v3); Wikidot uses Ajax for clean and fast interface (no browser page-reload). It is SEO-friendly, has no limits on site size, and provides for public and private wiki sites. Lots of widgets; including allowing embedding a video from YouTube and / or GoogleVideo, photos from Flickr, chats from Meebo, and many more. Each user can create up to twenty (20) Wikidot wiki sites, and be a member of an unlimited number of wiki sites.

Wikidot have a number of official support wiki sites for their registered users. Wikidot Community (found at http://community.wikidot.com), the Handbook (Wikidot) (at http://handbook.wikidot.com), Wikidot Packages (http://packages.wikidot.com), the Forum template (at http://forum-template.wikidot.com), Free Wikidot Themes (at http://themes.wikidot.com), Wikidot Code Snippets (at http://snippets.wikidot.com), Iron Giant (a project to create a bunch of free Wikidot applications, at http://IronGiant.wikidot.com), Multiplayer (to bring together gamers old and new, in a fun and competitive environment, at http://multiplayer.wikidot.com). Wikidot also has a great feature, available on most Wikidot wiki sites: the top right of each site has an 'Explore »' option (sometimes substituted with a small aeroplane icon), and this will open a new random Wikidot site, from anywhere in the world, on any random subject, in any different language.
