iPodLinux currently works on all iPod generations with the exception of the 2nd/3rd generation iPod Nano, 6th generation iPod Classic, all iPod Shuffles and the iPod Touch.  Donations always help when it comes to supporting new hardware.  Progress can be tracked on the Project Status.

Our bootloader allows for you to choose between either iPodLinux or {{tag|Apple}}'s firmware each time you turn on your iPod. iPodLinux is currently safe to install on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation iPods. Development is currently on-going on later generations of {{tag|iPod}}, including the fourth generation click wheel, mini, U2, Photo/Color, Nano, and Video.
Currently the server has been taken down. The iPodLinux team is working on recovery and they are going to use MediaWiki again.

The iPodLinux wiki is the home of the iPodLinux Project! This page provides the details of an open source venture into porting Linux onto the iPod. So far, they have successfully ported a customized uClinux  [dead link] kernel to the iPod, and written a simple user interface for it dubbed podzilla. Many additional applications have been written, adding many capabilities not found in Apple's OEM firmware.

iPodLinux currently works on all iPod generations with the exception of the 2nd/3rd generation iPod Nano, 6th generation iPod Classic, all iPod Shuffles and the iPod Touch. Donations always help when it comes to supporting new hardware. Progress can be tracked on the Project Status.

Currently the server has been taken down. The iPodLinux team is working on recovery and they are going to use MediaWiki again.
