'''ZWI''' is a new file format, or more correctly, a filename extension, for {{tag|wiki}}s.  Specifically, the <tt>.zwi</tt> file extension stores a complete [[wikitext]] version of an individual wiki [[article]] in {{tag|MediaWiki}} format, including all of its associated data (actual published revision, list of all [[Editor|contributors]], [[Edit history|previous revisions]], and all embedded media).  It also includes a created [[:Category:HTML|HTML]] file, which can display the wiki article in any web [[:Category:Browser|browser]] (without the need for its original {{tag|Wiki Engine|wiki engine}}).

An open file format, <tt>.zwi</tt> files are compressed (or zipped), and can be shared across different wiki sites, including different {{tag|Wiki Engine|wiki software}}.
