Each [[Wikidot]] wiki site gets a sub-domain on <tt>.wikidot.com</tt> (eg: <tt>mywiki.wikidot.com</tt>).  There is also a possibility to map a custom domain for free (eg: <tt>mywiki.com</tt> – if previously registered by the wiki site [[owner]]).<ref name=Features>[https://www.wikidot.com/features Awesome features - Wikidot - free and pro wiki hosting]; ''www.wikidot.com''; {{tag|Wikidot Inc.}}; accessed 15 October 2022.</ref>  One can optionally allow Wikidot to display {{tag|advertising}} on their wiki site and get 80% of revenue.  Wikidot features include: {{tag|RSS}} import/export, private RSS feeds for [[user]]s (notifications and watched items), RSS for page changes and forum, customisable themes (every item can be styled with {{tag|Cascading Style Sheets}} (CSS)), advanced forum for each site.  Custom page hierarchies, searching, advanced page [[edit]] locking (full/section/append), [[Banning|blocking]] users and [[IP address]]es, and private messages between users.  Wikidot users must now {{tag|ConfirmEmail|confirm their email address}} when registering for an account; each user can then create (own) up to five (previously 20) Wikidot wiki sites, and be a member ([[editor]]) of an unlimited number of wiki sites.  Wikidot also has a {{tag|GreatFeature|great feature}}, available on most Wikidot wiki sites: the top right of each site has an 'Explore »' option (sometimes substituted with a small aeroplane icon), and this will open a new [[:Category:Random|random]] Wikidot site, from anywhere in the [[:Category:Earth|world]], on any random [[:Category:Wiki Topic|subject]], in any different [[:Category:Wiki Language|language]].
