Established in July 2007, The Deuce got its name from the slang term coined for New York City's 42nd Street where many theaters known as "Grindhouses" played the kinds of genre {{tag|film}}s we are covering and celebrating here. This is a site dedicated to international Exploitation genre films from the 1930s - early 1980s i.e. the kinds of exploitation/cult films we would program at our own modern grindhouse. Our main goal at The Deuce is to include as much information about that bygone era as we can and make this the ULTIMATE online classic Exploitation film wiki/database.

Welcome to The Deuce: Grindhouse Cinema Database. The original online Exploitation cinema wiki!

Officially known as The Grindhouse Cinema Database (GCDb), established in July 2007 by Sebastian Haselbeck from Berlin in Germany, The Deuce got its name from the slang term coined for New York City's 42nd Street where many film theatres known as 'Grindhouses' played the kinds of genre films we are covering and celebrating here. This is a site dedicated to international Exploitation genre films from the 1930s - early 1980s i.e., the kinds of exploitation / cult films we would programme at our own modern grindhouse. Our main goal at The Deuce is to include as much information about that bygone era as we can and make this the ULTIMATE online classic Exploitation film wiki / database.

The wiki runs on the MediaWiki software, and was previously heavily modified with a custom skin designed by Paul Gu. As of 2024, the wiki uses only the Foreground skin.[1]
