Logo: Difference between revisions

On wiki sites powered by [[:Category:MediaWiki|MediaWiki]], when using the popular [[:Category:MediaWiki skin|MediaWiki skins]] such as [[:Category:Vector|Vector]] and [[:Category:Monobook|MonoBook]], the {{tag|WikiLogo|wiki logo}} is placed in the top left corner of every page on the wiki site; clicking on this logo takes one to its [[Wiki main page|main page]].  The wiki logo is a helpful reminder of what wiki site one is using, since many [[What is a Wiki|wiki sites]] using the same wiki engine (especially with the same skin) look very similar, even identical; and one could otherwise easily search or [[edit]] the wrong wiki site by accident. These logos are usually about 135x135 pixels; although it is useful to create a larger logo in case one wishes to also use it as the logo for say, a [[:Category:Facebook|Facebook]] page, or other [[:Category:Social media|social media]] or [[:Category:Websites|website]] for the actual wiki site. Other [[:Category:Wiki engine|wiki engines]] (when using standard [[:Category:Skins|skins]] for that specific wiki engine) will have the same visual 'similarity' between different wiki sites as detailed above for [[#MediaWiki|MediaWiki]]. However, logo placement on the page, and default logo sizes will vary from MediaWiki, but be unique to their own specific wiki engine.
