:Some of the wikis' got interwiki links. We could display them there so that users know they can interlink there. If you want an interwiki link, contact me or John. - Welcome to my talk page! Send me a message
Thanks for all your great work, especially on the Wikipedia pages. I know you've been working on more than just that, and just wanted to pass on my appreciation! TedErnst | talk 13:34, 29 September 2006 (EDT)
thanks again
Just wanted to thank you again for all your gardening around here. TedErnst | talk 10:20, 18 October 2006 (EDT)
template experiences
Hi smiddle, are you experianced with templates? Could you have a look on Template:Wiki/suggestion, I could not get it to work. My idea was to have entries in the appropriate Unknown Categories for parameters set to default or not set in the including page of an improved Wiki Template. I began working on wiki sizes and wanted to keep track with sizes missing. --Peu 16:33, 19 October 2006 (EDT)
- I'll try with that strange "if" template... – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 09:26, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- Or maybe it can work without the template. – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 09:30, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- ...what exactly is not working? – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 09:33, 20 October 2006 (EDT)
- My idea was to elaborate an improved future-save Wiki-Template-mechanism that makes pages visible that use older versions with less parameters. (The today-challenge is to bring a template-formulation to work that, for instance, collects Wikis with no WikiNode given in a new category, maybe Category:UnknownWikiNode). (I'm not sure if it could be done with this MediaWiki-Version) --Peu 13:25, 20 October 2006 (EDT)

wat are you doing?
You know that the includeonly section is responsible for listing in unk-cats [1]? the pipe "|" means here default parameters, not cat order. --Peu 04:09, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
What about wiki_URL
It's crazy but ther seem to be WikiPages without URL. and,
please, could you explain how If works. (so long I have to "family" now) --Peu 04:17, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
- Let's see... Category:UnknownWikiURL. But it only works if wiki_URL is not entered. If 'YourWikiHttp' or 'No' is entered, they'll not be added to the category. Hope there's a conclusion. – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 04:22, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
Oh, there is another mistake
You placed the unk-cats directly in the tamplate, thet causes the template page itself listed in unknowns. I did it now by including the "includeonly" tagging into the if-space and it works. If we could bring the standard wiki property lines into a generic fashion (maybe with your "If") then we can remove the "includeonly" section on top of the tamplate. --Peu 04:35, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
a last one
What do you think about it ([[2]])? --Peu 04:54, 21 October 2006 (EDT)
MyTimezone
Hi smiddle, I have added a Template:TimezoneMiddleEurope to use for our timezone (i it's the same). If we use it, we cann do the formatting in one style and switch DST with one edit. --Peu 07:04, 22 October 2006 (EDT)
- would you, please, have a look on Category talk:Timezone too --Peu 14:42, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
- re: time zone preferences (:uff, was it difficult to detect the autor of this contrib:) you should update your Special:Preferences fourth tab "date & time" (?: mine is german) --Peu 15:41, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
idea about time zone names?
I named the first middle european (time zone plus dst-convention) but what are the names of others. I consulted Wikipedia and so on, but I cannot find names of (time zones + conventions), I find only active time names...I'm not sure...(for instance MEZ (CET) is used to name both time zone and time in winter) can you help me? --Peu 15:50, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
- Maybe they can be named after some big city (e.g Moscow Time) ... or where the time zone is (e.g. Middle Australian Time). I can't help you any further than that, I think. – Smiddle / T·C·S·A 15:53, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
re: size categories
size cats were in former times 10, 100, 1000 and so on, I added the 2*10^e amd 5*10^e type size cats, for justice, but I think it would be not so helpful to add all n*10^e categories. see also Wikipedia:Benford's law --Peu 16:05, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
wiki people language
Hope you are not sour about the recategorization of wiki people languages. ---Peu 18:24, 23 October 2006 (EDT)
visual wiki index
Hi Smiddle, please would you have a look on this: Proposal:Visual WikiIndex --Peu | talk 17:27, 24 October 2006 (EDT)
where?
This[4] was a really good idea, thanks! --Peu | talk 18:06, 25 October 2006 (EDT)
Template:About
What is the purpose of this template? I think the caption "Author" is misleading, the parameter name founder seems better, but...what was your intention? --Peu | talk 09:52, 27 October 2006 (EDT)
- Actually... I don't know. I was thinking of linking to an article about the site creator and one about the page itself. – Smiddle / T·C·@ 12:20, 27 October 2006 (EDT)
