The mediawiki default for internal links to pages that don't exist is to have the text be red (I know some people also choose the option that shows them up as question marks for them, but not everyone). This is different from [[:Category:UseMod Wiki|usemod]], for example (with the question mark). If we could somehow have these external wikilinks show up as [[Red link|redlinks]] or question marks (same as internal links for that user), then I'd be in favor of this. Until then, I think it's confusing to have an external link that doesn't go to an active page and that looks the same as any other external link. Proposal 26-Feb-2006: Future linking[edit]
Specifically I am thinking about WikiNodes that need to be created. But as a theoretical issue, I think it helps people to understand the whole internet could be wiki. WikiBardo is along these lines. MarkDilley

The mediawiki default for internal links to pages that don't exist is to have the text be red (I know some people also choose the option that shows them up as question marks for them, but not everyone). This is different from usemod, for example (with the question mark). If we could somehow have these external wikilinks show up as redlinks or question marks (same as internal links for that user), then I'd be in favor of this.
