The CouchSurfing Wiki is probably one of the very few wikis (the first?) where the founder of the wiki cannot edit the wiki anymore.
CS' historical mission statement from about the mid-2000s is:
CouchSurfing, a free internet-based hospitality service, seeks to internationally network people and places, create educational exchanges, raise collective consciousness, spread tolerance and facilitate cultural understanding.
