'''When Alcohol Evolves Into A Problem'''
Alcohol has been associated with violence, crimes, and other anti-social activities, but only a few know that it was used as a medicinal aid during the pre-modern eras. In the Bible alone, alcohol's medical potency is flagged in 191 instances. Today, recent studies show that drinking in moderation (one drink a day for women and two drinks for men) declines the possibility of cognitive problems, heart ailments, strokes, stress, arthritis, erectile dysfunction, and other illnesses. Alcohol, therefore, is a bastion of a healthy body and life's longevity. However, problems occur when somebody draws off from the line, that is he drinks in excess, becomes eventually dependent on alcohol, and finally develops alcoholism.
Understanding Alcoholism
Like diabetes, hepatitis, and cancer, alcoholism is a chronic disease that generates distinct symptoms that include strong craving, loss of manipulation over intake, physical dependence such as sweating and nausea, and tolerance. Its effects are all-encompassing, affecting the whole body system and extending up to the family, career, and social life of a person. Over time, an alcoholic develops diseases such as pancreatic cancer, creates scarred familial relationships, absents from or reports late for work, or gets involved with crimes. These effects can be less serious because others can be more severe and even fatal such as death. It can't be discounted that 17.6 million American alcoholics are candidates for these alcohol abuse aftermaths.
The degree of alcoholism varies from person to person, but the influences that contributed to it are almost the same for every alcoholic. Studies show that a person's lifestyle and his genes say a lot whether he runs the probability of being an alcohol dependent. His emotional stability and peers are also potential influences.
Acquiring Help
A lot of alcoholism treatment programs today have been created to help alcoholics bring back their sober lives. However, it is not always easy to get help especially because most alcoholics never admit that their drinking has loomed into both a problem and a harm. In fact, instances where an alcoholic shrugs at the idea of alcohol rehabilitation are almost customary. It is usually the family and friends that recognize alcoholism, and they carry out several methods to send the person to an [http://www.drugrehabprogram.net alcohol rehab]. However, forcibly sending him to a rehab might do no good. [http://www.druginterventions.net Alcoholism intervention], where family and friends persuade an alcoholic to get some medical help, is the first step to getting treatment.
Alcohol rehabilitation programs nowadays have holistic approach to alcoholism. Other than medication, therapy, and counseling, some of them touch and even follow through the spiritual life of a recovering alcoholic. Yet, the level of success is not always the same to every person; some may lead a sober living, struggle with relapses, or get back to drinking after some time. There can be one assurance, though: getting sober is an alcoholic's personal decision.

Description[edit]

Biomedical Cybernetics is an innovative scientific approach that aims in a deeper understanding of function and development of complex living systems. It covers mathematical and structural description of information processing in organisms and ecosystems, decision making, e.g. in clinical application, and statistical description of dynamical networks that describe e.g. the spreading of infectious diseaes.

Subject of biological cybernetics is the investigation of navigational principles that are essential for survival as well as reproduction of organisms. Being understood in the broadest possible sense the term "organism" covers all possible scales ranging from single organelles to the biosphere.

Medical Cybernetics searches for quantitative descriptions of biological dynamics primarily in the intact, but beyond also in the diseased organism in order to gain new insights into the principles of life and its perturbations and to gather evidence based foundations for clinical decision making.
