Hi Mark. Trying to follow on Category: French. Think it could be complex to multiply the categories language. How about using redirection? I mean but still not sure for our future french and other languages sub-community...

To be completed. But for the moment, I see two main problems:

• the ability for people to type some characters
• the ability to understand all these languages

Like some of your ideas above, but I was thinking sorta reverse:

• redirect Category:French to [[:Category:Français]]

yes, there are something like 200 inactives and 100 defuncts, but many overlap, so maybe only 250 in total :-)

Hi raymon. no reason at all to use the old template. I did not invent the previous one (this wiki-syntax if still too much complicated imho...). Just tested the new inactive template on ZaurusWiki to achieve Z inactive letter. Nice. Will follow-up soon to review Y,X,W and so on. Thanks for your new suggestion. Seems much more simple to use. definition of inactive

I noticed you asked about a spam-filled wiki and changing to inactive. I think the idea is that Needs love covers spam-filled as long as the engine itself still works. Inactive is only if the site isn't there anymore, or isn't a wiki anymore. TedErnst | talk 14:18, 25 Feb 2006 (EST)

Yes, those categories look good. I'm still not clear myself on naming scheme for meta pages. Do you have opinions on this? The WikiIndex namespace seems to make sense, though there's also a Help namespace. I'm not sure how to know which pages go in which namespace. TedErnst | talk 12:14, 10 May 2006 (EDT)

I think we can use whatever namespace we want (within a limit of 150) - so whatever it is, we can hardwire it into this MediaWiki. MarkDilley
