Hi David,
I'm sure you have your hands full editing several wikis, but I just noticed a wiki amongst the uncategorized pages and I thought you might be interested in it. It's Drizztpedia on Wikia. So far, it hasn't gotten a lot of love. However, since I think of you as the keeper of the flame of all things D&D-related, I thought you'd want to know about it, even if you don't choose to contribute there.
Best,

:Thanks for the link. (I won't be adding anything, as I've not got a single one of the Drizzt novels, but it was very thoughtful for you to send this to me.) I'm told that Forgotten Realms Wiki originally started off with a high percentage of Drizzt articles, so it looks like the founders of this wiki may be reinventing the wheel (instead of just setting up a Drizzt portal at Forgotten Realms Wiki).
:When I went for a visit the wiki was not working properly, so I've reported it to Wikia. David Shepheard 16:35, 17 March 2010 (EDT)

You're welcome. I found a simple way to find the logo (which is often a bit of a trick with MediaWiki sites). If you use Firefox, select "Page Info" from the Tools menu. Then click on the "Media" tab. This will show the various media that appear on the page (usually images, but not limited to that). There may be an equivalent in Internet Explorer, but I haven't tried looking for it. --MarvelZuvembie 21:56, 17 March 2010 (EDT)
:Thanks for that. I was trying to view the source code and then hunt up and down for anything ending '.jpg', '.png', etc. I've copied the image over to here now, to save that wiki's bandwidth and to ensure the page here does not look broken if they ever take their server down for maintenance. Hello David, welcome to WikiIndex! Glad to see you are jumping right in! (and that this is a belated welcome) Best, MarkDilley

Thanks for the welcome. I suppose I'd better get my user page up and running. David Shepheard 22:07, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

Good idea David[edit]

How can I support you starting the 'upgradabilty' of personal pages?

I use this format at some wikis (example):

Thanks for the link.
When I went for a visit the wiki was not working properly, so I've reported it to Wikia. David Shepheard 16:35, 17 March 2010 (EDT)

I'm OK with the current logo to be honest. But the new one makes for a nice favicon. David Shepheard 13:07, 11 August 2011 (PDT)

Upgrade and logo stuff - open to all[edit]

Please check out WikiIndex:New logo decision and WikiIndex:Spring 2011 Upgrade Path, Best, MarkDilley

Most of the proposed stuff about the upgrade goes over my head, someone needs to explain the pros and cons of each thing if they want to get input from me. So long as this place doesn't start looking as awful as Wikia now looks, I'll be happy. David Shepheard 13:06, 11 August 2011 (PDT)
