I suggest, that an administrator should normally not delete a page directly. Ideally at least two wiki users should be involved. Of course, if pages contain obviously nothing but spam, then the deletion discussion may be skipped (? - you know only admins can check, if a page contained only spam, if it is already deleted)... Please let us know what we think about it. Wikily --Wolf | <small>talk</small> 03:31, 10 January 2012 (PST)
::If we go to that system, how do we note that an Admin or User agrees? Does this need another Template or do we just make a note like: "Delete Agree - Tera" I think the process needs to be defined better? Also, if a user nominated a page for deletion, and tagged it, does that count as one of two users needed? As for blatant spam, that should be obvious by links or other such things on the page, so yes, no delay should occur in that case. TeraS 09:52, 10 January 2012 (PST)
:::First, it's good that we come to this talk. Welcome Tera :-) I just wanted to prevent that admins delete pages that they dislike themselves. So if one admin thinks a page could be spam but isn't sure, he/she only tags it as to delete, and another admin deletes it then. The next problem is, that we discuss delete requests on the talk pages. These are normally deleted with its article page and then the discussion will be lost and no ordinary user can read why the article was deleted. So far this little thoughts from me. Of course, if there is a user who wants to keep an article, we have to discuss first (I've no idea how long this should last). Do you Admins have your own private user area?  Maybe setup a deletion discussion area - maybe <tt>/deletion discussions</tt> - and create a sub-heading with a wikilink for each request. Ideally, this should be done by an automated bot - but I know naff-all about them. Anyway, this would maintain all discussions - even for those which are deleted.  Of course, this still wont stop differnces of opinion . . . . but I definately support the two-stage deletion, irrespective of weather it is a normal user or an Admin who makes the delete nomination. --Hoof Hearted 12:22, 10 January 2012 (PST)

As for the bot and so on, I'll leave that discussion for Admin that have a better handle on that sort of thing as I can't answer to those ideas in an intelligent way. As for my personal opinion, if I see a tag of delete, I normally will check for spam links and so on, then what the subject is about, and then if the page meets WikiIndex's stated purpose. If it passes all of those points, then I remove the tag. If not, then I would delete it. Now, with the added antispam measures of late, we haven't been hit so much over the last while thankfully, so what we seem to be dealing with is past spam more than anything else with regards to deletions. That being said, I will agree that a two vote to delete system would be okay, but I think that if it is just a nominate, then first Admin to see removes, that might not accomplish anything of value as, really, it's what we have now more or less. this talk page is for discussing improvements to the WikiIndex:Deleting pages article

Shared deletion[edit]

I suggest, that an administrator should normally not delete a page directly. Ideally at least two wiki users should be involved. Of course, if pages contain obviously nothing but spam, then the deletion discussion may be skipped (? - you know only admins can check, if a page contained only spam, if it is already deleted)... Please let us know what we think about it. Wikily --Wolf | talk 03:31, 10 January 2012 (PST)

If we go to that system, how do we note that an Admin or User agrees? Does this need another Template or do we just make a note like: "Delete Agree - Tera" I think the process needs to be defined better? Also, if a user nominated a page for deletion, and tagged it, does that count as one of two users needed? As for blatant spam, that should be obvious by links or other such things on the page, so yes, no delay should occur in that case. TeraS 09:52, 10 January 2012 (PST)
First, it's good that we come to this talk. Best, Wolf | talk 12:03, 10 January 2012 (PST)

Do you Admins have your own private user area? Maybe setup a deletion discussion area - maybe /deletion discussions - and create a sub-heading with a wikilink for each request.

There is no admin area. Deletions are made as open as possible. As far as I remember, there were no lasting deletion disputes like in WP. --Wolf | talk 13:14, 10 January 2012 (PST)
I honestly haven't seen where an Admin has deleted a page out of spite or other personal concerns. Yes there have been some errors *raises hand* but other Admins have corrected those mistakes as needed. Much to ponder... TeraS 12:59, 10 January 2012 (PST)

That would be soooooo complex. If you require a bot, I can make one if that's not soooooo hard. --YiFei | talk 10:47, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

I request the protection of pages and files related to Augustine Blakely AKA Phoenix until clarification of the whereabouts of this 'person' as an author and 'their' own intentions regarding 'their' creations.

Is there a protection request template? Manorainjan (talk) 15:07, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

I have a serious complain wit the deletion of the files/pages who's request for deletion was disputed and the dispute was not solved in any way. Manorainjan (talk) 20:28, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure what's the issue here. "Author request" is valid. If you need and undeletion, please provide some arguments. --YiFei | talk 02:07, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
The arguments where mostly on the talk pages of the files which got deleted as well. Manorainjan (talk) 07:08, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
Since my link to Phoenix can not serve as reference any more I con only give reference to Deletion log from 11:02, 4 September 2014 to 15:34, 12 September 2014. Manorainjan (talk) 07:17, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
