Mercurial ("Hg" or "hg") is a popular open source distributed version control tool.
TortoiseHg is an easy-to-use GUI for Mercurial.
The TortoiseHg wiki discusses these things:
The pages of the TortoiseHg wiki are actually stored a hg repository. If you already have TortoiseHg or at least Mercurial installed locally, the wiki is easy to copy and edit locally, but more difficult to send in your changes, compared to other wiki.
[FIXME: what is the wiki software engine that interprets those Creole-syntax files into HTML and serves them up from the web server? Is it Atlassian Confluence or something else?
- It certainly isn't Confluence - I've looked at all other Confluence wikis listed here. It actually uses the Bitbucket repository software from Atlassian - and whilst the site claims to have 'wiki' pages, I'm struggling to find any actual wiki pages --Sean, aka Hoof Hearted • Admin • talk2HH 22:10, 28 October 2012 (PDT)]
