The original home of kayakwiki was set to read only since 2006, when the content was moved to kayakwiki.org {{deadEL}} and set-up on {{tag|MediaWiki}} software, with its content released under the {{tag|Wiki Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike|Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike 2.5 license}}.  A key motivator for the move was that the original {{tag|UseModWiki}} site (with content released under {{tag|Wiki NoLicense|no license}}) on kayakforum.com got {{tag|spammed}} into oblivion.  The new system administrator put some effort in, and the content had progressed considerably on the newer MediaWiki site, including nice navigation structures and image features enabled by the superior software.  However it has more recently disappeared (2008 some time?); fortunately, the [[Internet Archive WaybackMachine]] has captured [http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://kayakwiki.org/index.php/* 653 urls for that domain].  Perhaps it is lucky after all then, that the original UseModWiki site still exists in read-only form, so the content is still available to be rescued, although this content is missing couple of years worth of edits!
