MoinMoin is an extensible wiki engine written in Python, and uses only a file-based data store (and does not support any of the SQL or Oracle protocols). It supports CamelCase, freelinks and backlinks, and also utilises InterWiki. The MoinMoin software is released for free under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

The main wiki homepage here on WikiIndex for MoinMoin is: MoinMoinWiki. It has a large community of users. Criticism of MoinMoin includes its memory consumption and cumbersome navigation. Similar criticism states that MoinMoin "is an overly complex package and was very difficult to maintain, upgrade, and — as it happened — restore from backup".
