Template:Wiki Engine Zim is a wiki engine compiled in the Python programming language, created by Jaap Karssenberg, and is available in 27 user-interface languages. It looks visually similar to a PIM software package, such as M$ Outlook.

It is a graphical text editor, and its pages are stored in a folder structure, and can contain attachments. Zim stores all of its data in plain text files with wiki formatting. Various plugins are available, and provide additional functionality, such as a task list manager, an equation editor, a tray icon, and support for version control. Zim supports most of the common wiki syntax methods, including CamelCase, InterWiki, free links, backlinks, but does not support page redirects, structured data nor sister wiki and HTML tags.

Zim is released for free as Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPL v2). Template:WikiEngineFeatures
