Wiki.com is now a wiki-specific search engine, powered by Google Custom Search that searches all kinds of sites that have been found to be wikis by Wiki.com.

Originally, when founded in 2006, Wiki.com was also a wiki farm, utilising wiki technology from MindTouch.[1] The site had an affiliate site, CentralDesktop which offered free wiki hosting service.[citation requested]
