Mark, I think this functionality is only available in MediaWiki version 1.5.x this wiki is still at version 1.4.5. I have not yet upgraded to version 1.5.x because there are issues with servers that run multi wikis (we have about 40 wikis that run on the same server) the issues may just be my own lack of knowledge but I have not yet been able to install a version 1.5.x MediaWiki and have it play well with the other wikis :-).
