"Der "RC-Network Modellsport e.V." ist der Trägerverein der Internetplattform "RC-Network". Das Ziel dieses Vereins ist der Austausch von Gedanken und Ideen rund um unser Hobby, den ferngesteuerten Modellbau und -sport." Diesem Grundsatz verpflichtet wurde das Modellbau Wiki geschaffen.
Modellbau Wiki ist ein virtuelles Modellbau-Lexikon, in dem jeder angemeldete RC-Network User sein Wissen hinterlegen kann. Er kann zu einem von ihm gewählten Themengebiet aus dem Modellsport Beiträge erstellen, ändern oder ergänzen. Der dauerhafte Fortbestand des Modellbau Wiki und die Sicherung der Inhalte dieser Wissensdatenbank, sind geschützt durch den gemeinnützigen Verein RC-Network Modellsport e.V. und seinen Statuten.
- Welchen Nutzen hat das Modellbau Wiki für mich?
Dieses virtuelle Lexikon lebt vom Mitmachen. Alle Einträge werden mit Hilfe von Stichworten gespeichert und sind über die Suchfunktion abzurufen. Die Grundstruktur des RC-Network Wiki erlaubt es zusätzlich über Rubriken nach Inhalten zu suchen.

In dem man sein Wissen der Allgemeinheit zu Verfügung stellt. Das Themengebiet welches man bearbeiten will, gibt man in der Suchfunktion ein. Ist das gesuchte Thema bereits eröffnet, kann man dieses bearbeiten oder ergänzen.
- Was muss ich beachten wenn ich einen Beitrag erstelle, ergänze oder ändere?
Alle Änderungen und Ergänzungen sind nachvollziehbar. Dies ist einer der Grundsätze eines Wiki. Transparenz und Offenheit gegenüber anderen Autoren. Natürlich können Änderungen wieder rückgängig gemacht werden. Wie dies funktioniert erfährt man in der Hilfe.
