(Page count as of: 2022-12-25) The Independent Fallout Wiki is a wiki dedicated to documenting all aspects of the Fallout series. In addition to regular content pages, the wiki offers community content pages, which are host to fanfiction, in-game screenshots, fan art, Fallout 76 C.A.M.P. pages and more, as well as mod content pages, which are host to documentation and content pages for various Fallout game modifications. These additions grant accessibility for modders and the community alike.
With a deep history from the FANDOM Fallout Wiki Nukapedia, various community members decided to fork into independence due to many of the decisions and policies the parent company, FANDOM, had put in place. It was subsequently founded on April 8, 2022.
Many of FANDOM and Nukapedia's own decisions were actively hostile and unjust towards the community, which included intrusive ads and trackers, lack of customization, forced features with no opt-out, misinformation and head-canon on articles, heavy focus on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and much more. Independence has allowed the wiki to create beneficial policies, features and content pages that seeks to provide a friendlier and nonintrusive experience with zero tolerance for head-canon and misinformation. The wiki is extremely inclusive towards the LGBTQ+, GRSM, Plural and Otherkin communities and it welcomes such members with open arms.
