This is the root category for categorization of wikis by their age.
It contains categories for wikis founded in various periods of time. Yearly categorization was intended to start out, but feel free to add granularity or intervening summarizing time periods if it looks like it's necessary.
To determine the age of a wiki:
- The founder of a wiki probably knows its age.
- If they're running MediaWiki there's three ways:
- Go to the Oldest Pages for the wiki and look at the date of the first article (note that it lists pages that haven't been edited in a long time, not the oldest pages overall).
- Go check the date MediaWiki default (Default on Wikia) made its first contribution.
- View history for a system message, and check when MediaWiki default first edited it.
