Gamerpedia, originally located at www.Gamerpedia.co.nr, and subsequently at Gamerpedia.Freehostia.com, was the wiki encyclopaedia for games of all kinds, all around the globe! Unlike most other game wikis, we don't just focus on video games - articles about board, card, video, computer, or any other type of game are accepted too! All our articles are freely open for the public to read. And you can contribute too! Notice a mistake in an article or know something we don't? Just click 'Edit' and change it yourself! You can even write your own articles about any game you know about if we don't have one yet - don't worry if your knowledge is limited, because you or any other visitor can flesh it out later! All this is available to you without you even needing to register to our site. However if you do register, you can also visit our Forums to discuss strategies, share friend codes or just talk. And it's all completely free!

Please DO NOT add content to this site! Since the previous site's database is installed after each test to ensure the most up-to-date simulation of the main wiki, new content submitted here that is not on the main site will be erased!

Gamerpedia (pronounced /gām(ɹ)ˈpiːdiə/ or /geIm(r)ˈpiːdiə/) is a web-based free content encyclopedia with an emphasis on gaming. The name Gamerpedia is a portmanteau of the words Gamer and Encyclopedia. The core system of Gamerpedia is a MediaWiki installation run by the Gamerpedia Project.

Gamerpedia is written collaboratively by volunteers from all around the world. Visitors can also contribute to the project without need of special qualifications, as Gamerpedia is all about covering existing knowledge from the world of gaming; this means people of all ages and cultures can write Gamerpedia articles. Most of the articles can be edited by anyone with access to the internet, simply by clicking the edit this page link. Anyone is welcome to add information, cross-references or citations, as long as they do so to an appropriate standard and within good reason. Substandard or disputed information is subject to removal. Users need not worry about accidentally damaging Gamerpedia when adding or improving information, as other editors are always around to advise or correct obvious errors, and Gamerpedia's software is carefully designed to allow easy reversal of editorial mistakes.

Because Gamerpedia is an ongoing work to which, in principle, anybody can contribute, it differs from a paper-based reference source in important ways. In particular, older articles tend to be more comprehensive and balanced, while newer articles more frequently contain significant misinformation or vandalism. Users need to be aware of this to obtain valid information and avoid misinformation that has been recently added and not yet removed (Template:W can come in useful here; most of the advice listed for their own site also applies to Gamerpedia and other similar projects). However, unlike a paper reference source, Gamerpedia is continually updated, with the creation or updating of articles on topical events within seconds, minutes or hours, rather than months or years for printed encyclopedias.
