:It does seem like the Republicans trying to get more of those "Anti-therestoftheworld" people on their side. Even if it did come to pass, they wouldn't be able to stop it, they'd have to spend BILLIONS on trying to stop people. Plus another politician would promise to get rid of it to get voted into power....and then not do anything (politicians don't really do anything anyway). ::Hmmmmmm . . . I'm not sure on this - to specifically support WikiIndex, I think I'm gonna have to sit on the fence. Reasons: I fully support something like say Wikipedia (though they should have pulled the plug on all language versions) - because WP is a US-hosted site, and the Wikimedia Foundation is a US-hosted business (and probably more importantly, a charity). But whilst I respect that WikiIndex is also a US-hosted site, I struggle to see how WI has the same 'relevence' as an encyclopaedic site such as WP (and I don't mean this in any kind of derrogatory manner!). Fundamentally, WikiIndex is basically a 'search engine' for ALL wikis - worldwide - so I fail to see how a British/Irish/Australian/Canadian/South African wiki, or indeed any non-English language wiki from a non-English language country (Germany/France/Peru/China, etc) is affected by a proposed United States law - the US may be big, but it doesn't 'rule' the world!!! | ::Hmmmmmm . . . ::Anyway, just my reasons - but I won't have any problems if you do wish to pull the plug here at WI for 24hrs - maybe my SWMBO would be happy, she naggs me to get on with other work at home! :/ --Hoof Hearted • talk2HH 05:34, 18 January 2012 (PST) | ::Anyway, just my reasons - but I won't have any problems if you do wish to pull the plug here at WI for 24hrs - maybe my SWMBO would be happy, she naggs me to get on with other work at home! :/ --Hoof Hearted • talk2HH 05:34, 18 January 2012 (PST) | ||

Just a brief explanation of this site notice, and why I put it up.
I believe it's the most serious threat to WikiIndex in our 7-year existence, so it deserves some mention. It truly could kill WikiIndex. That alone I believe is enough reason to operate on the initial presumption this action won't be controversial. Please let act accordingly if you feel different. Best, MarkDilley
- It does seem like the Republicans trying to get more of those "Anti-therestoftheworld" people on their side. Even if it did come to pass, they wouldn't be able to stop it, they'd have to spend BILLIONS on trying to stop people. Plus another politician would promise to get rid of it to get voted into power....and then not do anything (politicians don't really do anything anyway). Escyos 00:55, 18 January 2012 (PST)
- Hmmmmmm . .
- Anyway, just my reasons - but I won't have any problems if you do wish to pull the plug here at WI for 24hrs - maybe my SWMBO would be happy, she naggs me to get on with other work at home! :/ --Hoof Hearted • talk2HH 05:34, 18 January 2012 (PST)
