The United States of America (USA), often abbreviated to just the United States (US) is a very large country, and is one of the two countries of North America, the latter of which is part of the larger continental region of North and Central America. The contiguous mainland of the United States shares land borders with Canada (CAN) and Mexico (MEX), and maritime borders with the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Ideally, this category should only contain articles that are specifically about the USA as a whole. Articles that are about a particular place (state or city) should be removed from here and put further down the 'category tree', if possible.
