The Revctrl Wiki discusses 'revision control systems' (RCS), also called 'version control systems' (VCS). There are discussions of revision control in general; merges, three-way merges, patch and revision theory, manifest, etc. There are also discussions and comparison of various revision control systems; bzr, darcs, hg, monotone, subversion (svn), svk, git, etc.

Revision control systems are tool useful in many areas including programming.

The Revctrl Wiki became heavily spammed (over 10,000 pages of spam!) due to the lack of spam control options on MoinMoin, and was subsequently taken offline sometime late 2012.

  • VCS-home wiki discusses using version control systems in ways they were never intended -- a single repository to keep track of *every* file in the entire $HOME directory.
