At the time, Dogcraft was amidst an identity shift away from being a forum-centric community, with web staff becoming increasingly inactive; the side effect of this being that historical information and site information was increasingly becoming outdated and at risk of being lost. These factors led to the idea to create an easily accessible and editable wiki to record information.
