Claymore, a manga and anime series, depicts a medieval world plagued by shape-shifters known as Yoma who prey on humans. The Yoma only opponents are female warriors called “Claymore,” named after their Claymore swords. The series centers round warrior No. 47, Clare, who journeys on an endless quest for friend and foe alike. The manga author, Norihiro Yagi, began the series in May 2001. Madhouse released an anime version in 2007.
