description heading

The boilerplate we're using as a description heading. You seem to be deleting it on the wikis you're adding. Is that intentional? Could you please drop a note at Template talk:Wiki Boilerplate about this? Perhaps it needs changing? Thanks!

Why do we need the description heading? I think that it is obvious that an article about a wiki has a descripion of it. What else you are going to write there? Tristram Shandy 18:07, 8 Mar 2006 (EST)

Actually I think this is a good question... do we keep description. The best thing it is for is the edit button next to the template box, while not showing the crud under the hood. Can we do that some other way? Maybe make it a wiki specific byline?

size

I'm reverting the changes to the boilerplate for a moment so we can decide how best to handle this. We don't want this breaking all of our existing work, and we need a plan for converting all existing wikis over to the new size categories, if we decide to do it this way. For reference, the fields I'm reverting are:

  • | wiki_statistics_URL = No
  • | wiki_size = Number of valid articles

Let's make sure this plan is going to fly before going whole hog modifying templates and such. TedErnst | talk 02:59, 9 Mar 2006 (EST)

[17:00] TedErnst: just put a note there saying you and I talked, and include Template:Size and say I've agreed to give it a shot
To avoid breaking Template:Wiki the way we did with Template:Wiki List, I'm suggesting we use a new Template:Size that would go on any wikis that we have size data for. We can play with the design and location of this template on the page. Let's take the rest of this talk over to Template talk:Size or Project Wikis By Size. TedErnst | talk 12:06, 9 Mar 2006 (EST)
