Email

I tested to see if the email notification system worked and it seems to be fine. Perhaps you need to visit Special:Preferences if you're not receiving email. Elassint 26 June 2012

Well, I tried that. But I don't even receive the confirmation e-mail, so I can't set any options there. --Bachsau 20:59, 26 June 2012 (PDT)
Yikes, that's an issue. I don't know what to tell you because my test account received the confirmation email instantly. Maybe its something with Gmail or something on your end. Elassint 27 June 2012
If you're using a gmail adress as sender, do you send it from this server or through google's SMTP servers? If you send it from this server it's nothing special that it doesn't work for many users, as Googles Sender Policy Framework disallows sending from other servers than google's. --Bachsau 07:10, 27 June 2012 (PDT)

Question re URLs

Hi, curious about your comment - do you mean the pretty URLs? (also I don't think it is a problem for people to update their pages every day :-) --Best, MarkDilley

Well, yes. We alread have "pretty" URLs here, but they are organized in a suboptimal way. Don't know who's the active tech admin here, but I think he'd know what I'm talking about, as I described it very clear at User_talk:Elassint. --Bachsau 23:30, 28 June 2012 (PDT)

Re: your question about Wiki management - I get emails regarding all changes on my watchlist - would be interested to know if that isn't the case for you. We do know about the error you are mentioning and it hasn't risen to the point of needing to fix it, IMO. Happy to hear why you think it should be fixed. --Best, MarkDilley

No, I still don't get any e-mails. Just using the feed for now. What errors are you talking about? The way e-mails are send? If you really violate SPF, you should fix it because it causes trouble, and is just technically incorrect. If you're talking about that texvc errors: You really ask me, why this should be fixed? Because it's an error, and errors should be fixed! If errors aren't fixed, they add up, and everything seems run-down, untidy and ugly. It would also be more effective against spambots though. --Bachsau 23:30, 28 June 2012 (PDT)

And by the way, Welcome to WikiIndex. --Cheers, MarkDilley

Automatic calculation of DST

Hi Bachsau,
you hit an interesting point here.
Although DST starts on the last sunday of march and ends on the last sunday of october, I admit that it's much better now. :-)

Yes, I know. But it would be very hard, if not impossible, to code with ParserFuctions. I just thought one week is negligible and still much more precise than someone updating the page about four months later. ;) --Bachsau (talk) 11:44, 19 July 2012 (PDT)
