welcome template
Welcome! It would be great if you'd create one. Thanks! TedErnst | talk 15:36, 14 Mar 2006 (EST)
- BlankVerse is obviously busy doing other useful things, so let's surprise him or her by getting in first with template:welc1. robinp 19:45, 22 Mar 2006 (EST)
categories
Category:Wikimedia Foundation didn't seem to exist, so I created it and it seems to work okay now. Happy editing! TedErnst | talk 13:35, 26 Mar 2006 (EST)
- Categorization is going to be a huge growing pain for us, I'm afraid. We'll just have to see what we (collectively) come up with. TedErnst | talk 01:28, 27 Mar 2006 (EST)
Mediawiki + transclude
Thanks Blank for your explanation. My question was more about external transclusion ;-) I know that this question is a cause of dispute but I'm sure that external transclusion into wikis could be very interesting for some specials apps, for example these experiments : http://anoptique.com (look on top the aggregation of the Recent Changes), http://anoptique.org/MetaWikis , and http://anoptique.org/TableauDeBord. As far as I know, very few wiki engines allow it (PhPwiki, Wakka..). Maybe one day Wikimedia? OlivierAuber 19:16, 3 Apr 2006 (EDT)
new wikis
You've come up with a great list. Have you seen WikiProject:Wikis to Add? That might be a place to keep your list, so others could go ahead and add those wikis, if you don't have time. You can also just make a new page here at wikiindex, put the url of the new wiki on it, and add the add template ({{add}}). Thanks much for your work on this! TedErnst | talk 11:51, 17 Apr 2006 (EDT)
- yes, I've arranged for those stubs to be converted every couple of weeks so have at it! --Raymond King | talk 16:58, 17 Apr 2006 (EDT)
Interwiki map
In MediaWiki editing the interwiki map involves directly editing it in the database. Wikipedia has a bot to go through and take note of any changes to the page for it and then somehoe add them to the database. We've installed an extension to turn the interwiki map into a Special page. — User:Sean Fennel@ 03:26, 9 November 2006 (EST)
