cathwiki.org: The Catholic Encyclopedia and Directory was a Catholic encyclopedia and directory in wiki format. It was launched in April 2009[1] and already has about 10,000 articles online.
The International Catholic Encyclopedia and Directory www.cathwiki.org is an initiative of Chavagnes International College, a Catholic boarding school for boys, at 96 Rue du Calvaire, Chavagnes en Paillers, F-85250, France.
Several attempts at a Catholic wiki have been made over the years. This time, the wiki is being sponsored by Catholic teachers, writers and academics and is sponsored by a Catholic school, so it looks promising.
cathwiki.org is a site for encyclopedic information from a Roman Catholic perspective as well as listings of Roman Catholic organisations and personalities. It submits itself to the teaching authority of the Catholic Church and to the magisterium of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.
Whilst cathwiki.org is a wiki which can be edited by anyone, our small band of volunteer editors will attempt to eliminate any acts of vandalism or dissent from orthodox Catholic teaching. We cannot, however, take legal responsibility for the veracity of entries on this site.
