Account oddities
Hi Mark - there seems to be some oddities with accounts going on.  I tried to update Baidu Baike, but got blocked by the Spam protection filter.  I checked both our blacklists – the MediaWiki:Spam-blacklist has a couple of entries for 'baidu.com' (but I left that unchanged).  In the My spam blacklist, I found one entry for 'baidu.com' – which I removed.  However, I still can't update the Baidu Baike article.  Something's really confusing me though – a new user – User:Zhuyifei1999 a few hours earlier had sucessfully edited the same article (complete with the addition of baidu.com url).  So how is it that a new (probably not even autoconfirmed user) can over-ride the two spam blacklists, yet a sysop such as I can not?
Another thing which is making me curious - when I (regularly) check Special:WhosOnline – I see the list flooded with users who have been blocked (months ago).  These seem to be permanently 'logged-in' to WikiIndex despite being blocked.  Special:WhosOnline does not show anon or IP editors, so how is it these supposedly banned users are still able to log in?
Any clues or ideas for these two issues?  Best, --Sean, aka <small>Hoof Hearted</small> • Admin • <small>talk2HH</small> 09:05, 30 March 2013 (PDT)
