'''WikiIndex:Adding Pictures''' – to add a picture, {{tag|images}} (or other {{tag|media}} file) to an [[article]] here on this {{tag|WikiIndex}} wiki site, you must first upload the picture in any standard file format to this WikiIndex.org site, using the [[Special:Upload|Upload file]] link in the 'tools' section on the left [[sidebar]].  Permitted file types currently include: png, jpg, jpeg, ogg, svg, mp3, pdf, gif.  When on the 'Upload file' page, select 'Choose file', and a window will pop up, where you can select your desired picture.  Select that, and you can add a short summary under the 'Summary' box.  Then, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Upload file' button.  Once uploaded, you can then add the picture to any [[article]] by using '''<nowiki>[[File:Example.jpg]]</nowiki>'''.  You can also select the button from the toolbar at the top edge of the [[edit box]] that corresponds to a picture (it's the fifth button from the left, 'Embedded file' will pop up when you hover your mouse pointer over the correct icon).

*It's nice to upload a '''larger picture''' to the site (not so large that people can't download it of course; say, a maximum of 1600 pixels wide).  This way you can have a smaller version show up in your article and then if the user wants to see the larger version, they can simply click on the picture.  Here's an example of how to limit the size of a picture in your article to 200 pixels:  <nowiki>[[File:Example.jpg|right|200px]]</nowiki>.
